The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) come into force on 25th May 2018 and requires that all businesses issue a privacy statement to all clients and contacts, regarding the data held about the individual.
1. Data Held :
1.1 I hold personal contact information as well as information about each student’s piano education, e.g. progress, objectives, exam results and tracking against goals. I only hold the data needed to provide the services you engage me to provide.
2. What I do with it :
2.1 Contact information is used for scheduling, invoicing, record keeping and communicating services and events such as recitals.
2.2 Some information will be shared with examination boards if you wish to enter for exams.
2.3 For users that register on our student portal, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
2.4 No other data will be shared unless there is a legal obligation to do so.
2.5 All reasonable steps are taken to ensure your data is processed and stored securely.
OTHER WEB-SITE VISITORS
1. Data Held :
1.1 When visitors leave comments on the blog we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you leave a comment on the blog, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
1.2 If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year
If you upload images to the website, you should be careful to avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
1.2 Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
1.3 If you use our contact form or opt in to receive emails we will collect and store your contact details
2. What I do with it :
2.1 Contact information is used for communicating services and events
2.2 Visitor comments on the Blog may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
2.3 No other data will be shared unless there is a legal obligation to do so.

3. Individual Rights to the Data Held:
3.1. If you wish to change or delete the information I hold about you, or if you have any concerns about your data, please contact me directly.
3.2 If you have an account or have left comments on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
