Sightreading for Trad Musicians

10 week digital course

Are you more comfortable learning by ear than reading music ? Are you completely reliant on tabs or ABC notation? If so this short course is for you.

Improve your sight-reading and gain access to the tunes in the Great Collections. (O’Neill’s, Bunting, Breathnach). Increase your options for learning and creating music by learning  to both read and write music in staff notation.

This course is an introduction to sight-reading music in the pitch range commonly used in Polkas. By the time you complete the course you will be comfortable sight-reading straightforward Polkas. You will  have composed your own Polka and transcribed it in staff notation.
